NHS Practice

I am a  Paediatric Consultant at West Middlesex hospital.

I qualified in India in 1998 after which I did MD in paediatrics from Rajasthan University, which is a 3 year degree course. I worked for a year in India as a senior registrar before coming to UK in 2001. I have trained in the UK for 10 years in paediatrics & neonates at various major UK hospitals like Great Ormond Street, St. Thomas’, St. George’s, St Mary’s.

That has given me a vast experience of dealing with various common conditions seen in children. I am fully registered with the GMC and have special interest in newborns and infants. I have been working at Ealing Hospital as a consultant in Paediatrics since 2012, after achieving my certificate of completion of training.

Since 10th Nov, I have joined West Middlesex hospital which is a part of Chelsea & Westminster NHS TRust.

Due to the increasing prevalence of allergy, I have done MSc in Paediatric allergy from Southhampton university. I do regular specialist allergy clinics at West Middlesex Hospital.

  1. Hello Doctor,

My baby is 7 moths 2 weeks old. He was exclusively breast fed before I started weaning him at 6 months. I am concerned that my baby might have Milk allergy or lactose intolerance. At about 6.5 months of his age, I gave him about 10ml Aptamil follow-on formula milk and immediately he fell sick. He vomited a lot. On Health visitor’s advice, I gave him cow’s milk with banana which also made him sick. Again he vomited everything he had that day. Next, Health visitor adviced to try yogurt which also did not suit him.
On the other hand he is able to hold Aptamil First infant formula milk when I mix it with his solid food. However he refuses any kind of milk including expressed breast milk when given from bottle, cup or spoon.
